Express Entry

Express Entry

Express Entry is a process used by Canadian Immigration to manage applications for permanent residency in Canada. The Express Entry system is designed to fast-track the immigration process for skilled workers and tradespeople who are panning on immigrating to Canada. It is an online system that allows individuals to create an online profile and submit their information, including:
  • work experience
  • education
  • language skills
  • age
  • adaptability
To be eligible for the Express Entrance, individuals must meet the criteria for one of Canada's economic immigration programs, such as the Federal Skilled Worker Program or the Federal Skilled Trades Program. Once they have determined eligibility, they can create an online profile and enter the pool of applicants.

Comprehensive Ranking System

Based on the information provided in their profile, individuals are ranked using a points-based system known as the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

Invitation to Apply

Applicants with the highest scores in the CRS are invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada through regular draws from the pool of other applicants. These invites are known as an "Invitation to Apply" (ITAs). If an individual receives an ITA, they have 60 days to complete and submit their application for permanent residence. The Canadian government aims to process most complete applications within six months or less. In addition to the Federal Skilled Worker Program and the Federal Skilled Trades Program, the Express Entry system is also used to manage applications for the Canadian Experience Class, which is a program for individuals who have already gained work experience in Canada.

Improve an Express Entry Score

Express Entry system allows individuals to see how they rank in the CRS and make changes to their profile to improve their score. This can include things such as improving their language skills or gaining additional work experience. express entry articles
